Torre container

Container Tower
Dubai, UAE | Sustainable Urban Development

The Container Tower is part of a large-scale urban development in Dubai that transforms shipping containers into a livable, multi-functional environment integrating residential, commercial, and cultural spaces.

Project Principles:
The design explores four core themes: recycling, sustainability, prefabrication, and flexibility. The residential tower assembles two container sizes to create three distinct apartment typologies. These modular units combine to form flexible floor layouts, stack vertically to reach the required height, and connect to communal garden spaces.

Bioclimatic Strategy:
The project achieves low environmental impact through passive design strategies, extensive vegetation, and advanced drainage systems. Green infrastructure serves multiple functions: shielding against desert winds and intense solar radiation, enhancing residential privacy, and providing significant aesthetic value.

The central square features terraced levels connected to a sequence of bioclimatic greenhouses. These spaces support diverse vegetation growth and enable forage production, integrating food systems into the urban fabric.
